The Dão Demarcated Region was established in 1908, located in central Portugal, in the province of Beira Alta. This region is characterized by a rugged relief.

The vineyards are located between 400 and 700 meters above sea level, on plateaus of schist and granite soils of low depth, where the pine forests abound, producing full-bodied wines.

The climate of continental influence of Dão presents extremes, with cold and rainy winters and hot, dry summers. Initially, the vine was developed by the clergy, especially by the Cistercian monks. In 1908, it became the second Portuguese demarcated region. With the entry of Portugal into the EC in 1986, the vineyards underwent a process of restructuring, with new winemaking techniques and choice of appropriate grape varieties.

Dão presents a great variety of grapes, among which the Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Jaen and Tinta Roriz paints, and the white ones Encruzado, Bical, Cercial, Malvasia Fina and Verdelho.

They are complex reds and aromatic and white fruity, medium body, aromatic and very balanced.
