HISTORY:
Only a few years ago, Moscatel Roxo was an endangered variety. Taking into account that it originates wines of Superior Quality, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, promoted the planting of the largest Moscatel Roxo vineyard in the world (5,2847 ha). Traditionally always used to vinify Setúbal's Fortified Wines.
In recent years we have found exceptional qualities in the rosé wines of this variety and decided to create a new brand to make this precious wine known to consumers.
This is the first vintage of this rosé wine that we have bottled. 

PROFILE:
Produced with grapes of the Moscatel Roxo grape variety planted in 2003, in the northern slopes of the Arrábida Mountains, in Azeitão, in the was coming from the Friars' farm.
After a careful sampling of the grapes in the vineyard, the harvest dates are set. The grapes enter the winery, are refrigerated and gently pressed; the must obtained, after defecating, ferments at low temperatures (10 - 12ºC), obtaining thus a very slow fermentation aiming at the preservation of the primary aromas of the variety.
The final blend was carried out at the beginning of January 2018, taking advantage of the "explosion" of aromas and freshness that mark the wines.

TASTING NOTES:
This rare pale pink wine has an intense, rich and complex aroma, with floral notes of roses and orange blossom.
In the mouth these aromatic sensations are enhanced and intensified, which together with a good natural acidity, give rise to a wine with a full finish, very mineral and fresh. Given its rarity we can define it as Rare and Original.

GASTRONOMY:
It is a good accompaniment to soups and fish dishes, and even to light meat dishes or more spicy kitchens due to its body and aromatic complexity.
